Question:
I keep envisioning gardening while my six-month-old son plays in his "Pack
& Play" playpen in a patch of shade nearby. He puts everything into his
mouth, including various body parts (see abovementioned age! :)) so I
really don't want to be putting repellent on him yet.
Does anyone know of an a)safe, b)effective, c)affordable, contraption of
mosquito netting which I could put over the playpen for protection from
bugs? If not, does anyone have any ideas how I might make one from a
large sheet of mosquito netting? Or would some kind of camping tent do
the trick? I'm trying to figure out what I might do & use to use or make
as a lightweight frame for the netting which he could not get hold of
while playing. It's also important to be able to keep good visual contact
with him, so we must be able to see through it.
I really like what they call "baby huts" (made of nylon, zippered around
one side to get baby in & out) and I wish that they could make them a bit
larger, and transparent!! *That* would solve my problem!!!
Answer:
I bought a mosquito net that fits on top of the play pen and it works like a
charm. I believe that I bought it at either Wal-Mart or Toys are Us. They
are very affordable about 5 dollars I think. I still have ours and am no
longer using it wish I could get it to ya...It is very useful you can also
use it over the stroller when taking the little one out.
