Some of you might remember from previous posts my mosquito predicament.
And I remember there was a post concerning Deet clothing. I just
sprayed Mosquito Barrier at my "country estate". My neighbor (whose
yard I did also) is part Irish, Italian and several other mixtures
remarked she had to get some Soul Food, meaning some spahgetti,or
anything w/tomato sauce.
This spray is potent garlic juice which you mix 4 oz. w/2 oz
vegetable oil &1 oz. liquid detergent every 2 gallons. It seems to have
the suckers running, but our yards smell like an Italian Deli. Think
I'll fix pasta 2nite.
I'll get back to y'all & let you know how it works. One application
is supposed to last 2 to 3 months . Mosquitos can't stand garlic and it
closes up their breathing apparati, the soap and oil cause it to stick
to walls and plants. All natural & the smell disipates in 30 minutes.
According to the ads.Maybe I can smoke on my deck now.

-I'd be very interested in the results of you experiment.
- It's a prepackaged solution of potent garlic juice I ordered over the
internet. Punch in Mosquito Barrier & it'll come up. I went out for
carry out...wasn't a 'noseeum' in sight. Didn't get bit. The true test
is tomorrow night. I'll let you know. There's myriads of testimonies on
their website. NO I'm not afilliated w/them. I just want my deck back
and I know some of you have skeet problems too. I'll let ya know!!!
-After our neighbors had the pyrethrin mist system installed, they gave
us (back in May) their old Mosquito Magnet. It has proven a Godsend.
I can smoke for an hour outside in Houston in the early evening (prime
mosquito time) with fewer bites than I can count on one hand. It would
seem to have very little effect on beneficial bugs (other than those
that eat mosquitoes, maybe), since its attractant is some specialized
chemical plus CO2 (like your breath), derived from propane. With the
attractant and CO2, it costs about $20 to $25 per month. Well worth
it--the children and I have regained our backyard during the summer
months.
