Mosquito Repellent Plants?

Question:
I've heard that there are plants perennial plants that repel mosquitos. Does anyone know what they are? Can they be planted close a patio? If they exist it would be much better then using screening.

Answer:
Any plant you use for this purpose will not serve to eliminate mosquitoes. That is mostly a marketing scam, and generally ridiculous claim! Yes, certain plants may deter mosquitoes from landing on THEM, but certainly not deter them from a succulent arm! Screens are all I know of to truly keep mosquitoes at bay, along with eliminating any standing water where they breed, or the use of Bt-Israelensis (for ponds or standing water of any sort), which is sold in a dunk, which is non-toxic to anything but mosquito larve. Never use deet on you or the children. Way too toxic and systemic.
